UK Indoor Champs Roundup

Due to other commitments, only Mabel Akande represented at this years British Athletics / @britishathletics Indoor Championships in Birmingham.

Her journey went as follows:

In the heats at 13:13, she came home in 1st place from lane 2 in a commanding 7.43s, displaying superb maturity for the youngest sprinter in the competition.

In the semi-final at 16:19, she finished 3rd, behind (you guessed it), Amy Hunt again for the third time in a fortnight. Mabel ran a 7.34 to qualify for the final only a couple of hours later.

In said final, (at 18:18), where last year Mabel picked up a bronze medal, she didn’t get the best of starts yet closed her brilliant championships in 7th spot with a 7.42s.

Well done Mabel and good luck to Kaesi Opara and Georgina Adam who had been invited but are now looking to their outdoor seasons.
