Lincoln Wellington has a number of training groups aimed to meet the needs of individuals based on their ability and aspirations. We also have teams in a wide range of competitions, from young athletes through senior track and field to road running.

Road Runners

Who for? The Road Runners welcome new members from complete beginners to seasoned athletes. We vary in age from teenagers to old age pensioners. We enter a variety of races from 5k to marathon, but welcome fun runners who do not intend to race but who wish to improve. So if you are looking to improve your Personal Best (PB) or to keep fit we can help you.

When we meet? We meet on a club nights, Tuesdays and Thursdays, and hit the road about 6.30pm. If you are new to the club and want to join us please come down about 6.15pm and ask for the road runners section. We normally form 3-4 running groups of slow, medium, to fast and run 30-60+ minutes. On a Sunday mornings some of our members meet for a long run (10-15+ miles). Feel free to come down and try us out!

Where we meet? We always start from the Club Hub at Yarborough Leisure Centre. We then hit the historic streets of Lincoln utilising the hills and countryside to keep our runs varied.

When we meet? Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6.30pm. We usually start off with a 30 minute warm up including a 2-mile loop, some drills and strides, before the session starts at 7pm. Sessions vary from 30 minutes to over 1 hour.

Where we meet? Most of our sessions are on the Yarborough Leisure Centre Athletics Track, however, we hit the road or grass during to summer to get some hills or mix up our training mainly during the summer months.
