🚨 Club Record Alert! 🚨

Records fall at Valencia Marathon in the Women’s Vet 40 category πŸ†

Rebecca Cole has broken her own club record, previously clocked at 3:00:14. It’s her second marathon of 2024, the first being @londonmarathon TCS London Marathon where this previous record was set. Coming so agonisingly close to a sub-3 hour time!

Marathoner Rebecca said after her new PB, “I was so grateful to make the start line, finish, and enjoy the Valencia marathon – it meant an awful lot to me, after many, many years of injuries.”

Not content with running negative splits across the 26.2 miles, completing the second half faster than the first, and being metronomic in her consistency, she added, “I’m really looking forward to joining other LWAC runners at the London marathon next year!” where she hopes to continue to improve and learn from the congested course at Valencia πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡ΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ Her official clocking is 2️⃣:5️⃣7️⃣:2️⃣0️⃣

“From a masters perspective I’ve qualified for a spot in the 2025 age group world championships which will be held within the New York City marathon in November 2025 – which would be amazing to do!” πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Let’s congratulate ‘Becca on her fantastic achievement, with heart and soul and a bucket load of hard work going into the build up of making this happen. We wish her well for the London Marathon, and for Age Group World Champs in NYC! πŸ—½πŸŒ†
