As cross country season is in full swing, and this weekend is action-packed with it, we need to give you all a recent little throwback.
On 9th November, it was the @britishathletics #CardiffCrossChallenge and LWAC had one athlete competing.
@xellarose_whitworthx went in the merged lineup of U17W & U20W at Llandaff Fields. In a stacked field of competitors, she finished 3rd U17, behind the excellent Isla McGowan and Libby Gale, and 6th overall with Innes Fitzgerald leading the overall pack.
It’s been a cracking season so far for Ellarose, who goes from strength to strength with every performance, most recently PB’ing in the @myracebest York 5k Series, as well as dominating her age group at the European trials in Liverpool. Performing so well, that she isn’t eligible for selection to the GB team due to age restrictions.
This weekend was due to be @englishschoolsaa @englishcrosscountry streamed live, however severe weather disruption means a cancellation until March 2025. Several LWAC athletes were due to participate.
@crosscountryantalya2024 is also taking place, where LWAC are chasing glory. This will be available to watch via @bbciplayer
