5 – 16 April – Coventry Spring Meeting welcomed several Paralympic, World and European medallists to the track at the University of Warwick, which included LWAC Thomas Talbot and Debbie O’Connell. Thomas, racing over the 100m and 100RR, back from injury and starting his season in fine form. Debbie gained two new PB’s in the 100m and 200m adding to the 400m pb she gained earlier in the month.

16 April Charnwood Open Meeting – Loughborough
PBs galore from 100m through to the 3000m. Impressive sprinting starting with Mabel Akande topping UK rankings in the 100m and 200m. Callum Winchester-Wright jumping straight into top 20 senior rankings backed up with pb’s for all the sprinters on the season opener.
Evie Brooke’s and Cameron West smashed their pb’s in the 1500m. Impressive run from Ellarose Whitworth in the 3000m making the smooth transition onto the track from an outstanding Cross Country season.

16 April – Lincoln 10k
Abbie Donnelly shattered her own course record which saw a large turnout from the Club making this home fixture one to put in your calendar for 2024.

23 April – London Marathon. Comments from Anne Gilroy who was one of the Club’s many supporters who travelled to London to cheer our runners on:
‘Denise, there are so many happy runners today. The rain didn’t dampen spirits, and huge achievements were made.
I have just got home, and I needed to make sure you know that everyone just did amazing’
