Wingate Welly
Congratulations to middle-distance maestro @ev.brookss for her debut @ncaatrackfield Nationals!
Placing 76th out of 260 runners, it was her first National Cross Country Championship stateside, which this year, was held in Sacramento, California.
Qualification for the Nationals started with a 7th place finish in the Conference. From here, it was Regionals, running incredibly well to finish a brilliant 6th (where her university were crowned NCAA DII Southeast Regional Women’s Champions 2024! ).
The regionals course was 6,000m and @wingateuniv won with 33 points. Evie ran a storming 21:33.5, only 29 seconds behind the winner, with Wingate taking 3 of the top 6 spots!
In the Nationals, she ran 21:54.0 over the 6km course in California’s capital, helping her team along the way as a Sophomore!
Wingate men finished runners up and women in 8th in the #ncaad2trackandfieldnationalchampionships #NCAAD2 from teams all across the USA, of which Evie has played a massive part!
Please give her a massive “congratulations” on a brilliant achievement
