Fancy giving running a go this spring/ summer? Why not come along and try one of our road runner sessions, ideal for beginners or those just wanting to give running a go. Who knows where it may lead…
So, here’s a flavour of what we do…(don’t be worried about ability, we aim to cater for all!)
We meet every Tuesday and Thursday, whatever the weather! Tuesdays tend to be shorter, sharper sessions and Thursdays longer slower sessions. If you are new to running, to start with, you may just want to come to one session per week, then if you like it, do both! A mix of speed and endurance is essential to help with any running goals, but also it helps mix the sessions up and keep them fun and enjoyable!
Often new running’s can be nervous about our Tuesday “speed” sessions, but there’s no need to be. We work on your speed not Mr Bolt’s! This will involve sessions such as 1 minute fast 1 minute jog recovery times for example 10 times. Sound hard? Then yes it is, but we make sure you do it at the pace you can complete it in. Often our routes for this type of session are loops, so you can also do fewer (or more) repetitions depending on how you feel. There’s no pressure, and have a really encouraging and supportive group so we work together through the sessions. Thursdays will usually be anywhere from 5 to 10 miles, often at a slower steadier pace. Again different groups go at different paces, so there’s sure to be one for you to fit into and progress as you wanted.
