Seven (7) of Lincoln Wellington’s athletes have been invited to this years crucial UK Championships in Manchester this weekend.
In the sprint disciplines, Kaesi Opara and Callum Winchester-Wright go in the 100m, with the former also running the 200m for the men. Mabel Akande leads the women’s U20 sprints in the 100m off the back of her blistering PB victory in Mannheim of 11.27s, with Georgina Adam going in the 400m.
In the middle distance category, Sam Atkin runs in the men’s 5000m. Already holding the Olympic qualifying time for Paris, he jumped to #2 on the UK all-time list for the event behind Sir Mo Farah with his 12:54.66 in Los Angeles last month. As for the women, Abbie Donnelly and Sophie Wallis are invited and are both in fine form following both achieving European qualification at last months Night of the 10,000 PBs.
