Lincoln 10k Race Report

On a generously mild morning for 30th October, the streets of Lincoln closed once more for the annual City of Lincoln 10k.

With such a deep pool of endurance runners at the club, the chance to race on the local streets is relished, and 44 of our own flew the Wellie flag (45 if we count Jim Aram spectating with his actual flagpole).

A great day all around. 17 personal bests. A course record. There was also fantastic support along the whole course from those at the club not running. The community was strong.

Leading our lady wellies home was Abbie Donnelly (32:51 (PB)) in a new course record! Sophie Wallis (33:56) joined her on the podium for an LWAC 1-2. And then the vests came flowing through…

It is safe to say, the strength in depth of our ladies is admirable.

In the men’s race, Shane Robinson (30:52) made sure we had representation on the rostrum, coming home in 2nd. Leading the queue of male athletes behind him…

The 2023 version has moved back to April (thankfully), so hopefully the sun will be shining as so often associated with Lincoln 10k.

All the best, and have a great winter of training everybody!
