January 13/14: Three Golds and a Bronze at Senior/Under 20 and Under 17 Northern Indoor Championships at Elite Institute of Sport(EIS), Sheffield.

Lincoln Wellington athletes competed in the Northern Indoor Championships for Senior/Under 20 and Under U17. Mixing it alongside Olympian and the best in the North at EIS where a Championship Performance was recorded for Mabel Akande in the U20 women’s 60m and a Club Record for David Zoldowicz, in the Senior Men’s 400m. Gold and Bronze for Rochelle Harrison in the 1500m and 800m.

Saturday 13 January

Championship record from Mabel Akande, personal bests from Callum Winchester-Wright(equalling his personal best twice)Alex Rodrigues and David Zoldowicz James Rowe, impressively improved his personal best by five seconds. Seasons bests for Stuart Bagley, Kieran Gillespie, Millie Turner, Alex Ward, Jay Thomas and Ryan Hewitt. Good to see Will Jagger back racing after time out with injuries. First time indoors and finalist in Triple Jump, Emily Hukin gained invaluable experience in such a technical event. Rochelle Harrison, prolific Northern Indoor Medallist, ran a gutsy 1500m and gained a Bronze medal.

Sunday 14 January

Personal bests and seasons bests again,with an early start for the 200m. Mabel Akande ran a personal best and became the Northern U20 Champion. Seasons bests for Millie Turner, Stuart Bagley, Alex Rodrigues and Jay Thomas. Kieran Gillespie was back today in the 800m taking on the lead in a tough race. Rochelle Harrison back on the track to take the Gold Medal in the 800m determined to bring home nothing less, she led from gun to tape.
