Just the small matter of FOUR club records (that we know of so far) to bring you over the last few weeks.
First up, it’s Natalie Burns (Farrow), with her Brass Monkey Half Marathon 2025 result a little over a week ago. Crossing the line as the 1st V40W, she beat the previous club record of 81:53 by producing an 80:41, despite not feeling her best in recent weeks. That record incidentally, breaks her own club record, set at Cleethorpes last year.
Next up is @mollie.grant27. The in-form U17 has had a solid XC season under her belt and has taken that experience into her favoured distance back where she does it best – the track, over 800m! She ran a 2:14.08 for the silver medal, being pipped on the line, after having ran some big races leading up to it, and an 800m qualifying heat the same day. Mollie now eyes the European standard, which she isn’t too far away from currently. This comes only weeks after tearing up the 600m record too!
Last but by no means least, it’s @z_oldo. Dawid is in blistering form of late and has already produced some club records of his own of late, but he didn’t stop there. To add to his 300m indoor record, he now takes the club crown for the 150m & 400m indoor. The 150m was previously held by M. Bradbury, who ran 16.93s in Sheffield on 17th November 2012! Dawid took this at EIS Sheffield during the York Indoor Open. His 400m title is a demolition of his own record, standing at 51.07s from EIS Sheffield on 13th January 2024.
Take a breath, Wellies, there’s plenty more coming this week in the form of recent positive #LWAC news!
Please join us in celebrating these successes – phenomenal performances all round!
