Huge shoutout to @_faithtaylor4 for her incredible start to 2025, seamlessly continuing the great form she displayed across all of 2024.
Faith smashed the Liverpool Cross Challenge at the back end of last year, finishing 6th out of 105 in her race. This, after racing for the LWAC ‘A’ team at the @northernathletics XC Relay and producing the fastest leg of the day, of any athlete and running in the ‘A’ for Nationals, taking home the win!
Over the last few weeks she has ran the Lincs District Schools XC at Burghley House in Stamford as a Senior Girl, winning this race, automatically qualifying for English Schools.
After this, it was time to travel to Woodbridge School, Suffolk, for the Regionals (Anglian), where Faith delivered once more, bringing home the gold.
@englandathletics we hope you’re watching…this girl is on fire!
LWAC success at these events didn’t stop there! @islap_run brought home 1st place for the Inter Girls (District), with @mollie.grant27 in 2nd.
For the boys, @asherphillipson placed a tremendous 3rd at Lincs (11th at Anglian) alongside twin brother @finnian.phillipson in 14th in Suffolk, meaning both automatically qualify for English Schools at Ardingly Showground in West Sussex on the 15th March.
Placing higher determines where you start in the pen for English schools, so is vitally important.
@xellarose_whitworthx also qualifies after her Win in Suffolk too, having missed the Lincs meeting through injury.
February is a month where the athletes can catch their breath and get back to training ahead of the major national cross country events in March – English Schools Cup Final in Leeds on 1st March, UK Inter-Counties in Nottingham on 8th March and then English Schools.
If we’ve missed anyone, please feel free to send us your photos and results (they’re notoriously difficult to find as aren’t ratified). We’d love to hear how you got on!
