Friday 30th March 2018: Important Information for the Humberside League Match on 7th April at Grimsby regarding parking.
They apologise for the difficulties but due to recent bad weather conditions they are not able to use the grass area around the stadium for car-parking. Alternative parking is available in Weelsby Woods on the other side of Weelsby Road from the Stadium and also at Clee Fields Sports Hall on Ladysmith Road (DN32 8– is the best post code they can find). From the top end of this car-park (Cleethorpes end) there is a quick short-cut to the stadium and the gate into the track will be unlocked. Some parking at the far end of the stand will be available for officials.
Friday 30th March 2018: Following the change of membership year we will be holding an AGM on Friday 20th April 2018 at The Priory Academy LSST. Meet at 7pm on the track, meeting starts at 7.30 in the Debating Chamber.
Wednesday 21st March 2018: Two LWAC athletes recently competed at the England Age Group Indoor Championships at EIS Sheffield. Lucy Frow returning from injury and illness didn’t let this major championship slip by. Lucy gained the qualification standard in January on her first competition back and in her new age group of U17 women Lucy finished a creditable 6th in 8.37 just outside her PB. An amazing performance under such circumstances.
Georgina Adam also competing at the same championships in the u20 women age group 200m won her heat and semi in convincing style and wining the final in 24.11 bringing her most successful and medalled indoor campaign to date, to a close. Outstanding Georgina!
Abbie Donnelly put in an excellent performance at the CAU Inter Counties including British Athletics Cross Country Challenge at Loughboro 10 March, to gain a bronze medal in an exciting return to form. Congratulations to all three ladies.

Wednesday 7th March 2018: Our thoughts are with the Family and Friends of Hannah Brown, who sadly passed away recently. Her family would like to invite any LWAC Members who wish to attend, to a celebration of Hannah’s life at Lincoln Crematorium on Wednesday 28th March at 14:30, and then afterwards at Washingborough Hall Hotel.
Friday 23rd February 2018: Georgina Adam gained experience last weekend by competing in her first Major British Senior Championships by accepting a British Athletics invitation, and achieving qualification at the Spar Indoor Championship in Birmingham. Georgina came 2nd in her heat to qualify for the Semi Finals in an indoor PB of 24.10. She then ran another PB of 24.01 to qualify for the Final, being the 2nd youngest athlete to do this. Georgina finished 5th in final with 24.46. A gutsy performance and achievement against well seasoned athletes.
Wednesday 7th February 2018: Congratulations to Georgina Adam on her recent win in the 200m at the Vienna Classic. A big achievement for the youngest member of the Senior England Team.
Thursday 25th January 2018: Congratulations to Georgina Adam who has been selected to represent England in Vienna this weekend (27th and 28th January) in the 200m indoors.
Thursday 25th January 2018: Four Medals for LWAC Athletes at NoEAA Indoor Championships
Another weekend of great athletics for LWAC athletes at the recent Northern Indoor Senior/U20/U17 Championships at EIS on 13 and 14 January.
Rochelle Harrison produced a seasons best in the senior 1500m , for a Bronze Medal
Archie Richardson produced a seasons best and a very gutsy run in his 1500m to also get a Bronze Medal.
Lucy Frow and Millie Turner both returned to racing after recent injuries and getting pbs in the U17 60m and 200m.
David Zoldowicz finished 7th in the Men’s U17 Long Jump breaking his pb and 5th in his Triple Jump for a seasons best.
Georgina Adam, a clear winner in the U20 Ladies 60m gaining a new pb through every round, she also went on to win the U20 Ladies 200m with a new indoor PB and breaking the Club Records in both events.
A mention again to the Lincoln Uni Students Tom Welsh and Rhys Jones both gaining new pbs in the Senior Men’s 60m and 200m respectively.
Saturday 20th January 2018: On Saturday 13 January, at Wollaton Park, Nottingham, two of our Junior Middle Distance runner’s, Joe Green (U17 boys), and Emily Crookes (U15 girls), both won the N. Midland XC League Series in their respective age groups. These were two excellent results.
Monday 1st January 2018:
North of England – Start Fitness Open Indoor Meetings November 18 and 02 December 2017 at EIS Sheffield
Congratulations to all LWAC athletes who recently took part in the Indoor Meetings at EIS Sheffield, most of whom gained pbs and for some this was their first experience of competing indoors.
Below is a short brief of both competitions and the athletes who took part.
November 18 Meeting:
The Club was well represented in a broad range of events which included the 60m 150m 1000m Long Jump, Triple Jump, Pole Vault with the following athletes taking part: Georgina Adam, Millie Turner, Ryan Snell, Emma Jagger, Alicia Carchedi, Luca Cardchedi, Max Williamson, Taylor Wann, Brian Hawkins, Michael Apim, John Moore, David Zoldowicz, Jobi Woodward, William Jagger India Barwell.
December 02 Meeting:
Again outstanding performances and attendances for this pre Christmas Meeting from LWAC Athletes which included 3000m 300m 600m 60m, 150m. 60MH , Shot Putt, Long Jump, with the following athletes taking part: Kobe Tong, Georgina Adam, Ryan Snell, Brian Hawkins, Rhiannon Philps, David Zoldowicz, Taylor Wann, Lucy Frow, Sharon Waller, Isabella Vinter, Alicia Carchedi, Rochelle Harrison.
Special mention to University of Lincoln Athletes who competed in both meetings. Most of these athletes are training with LWAC athletes and being coached by LWAC coaches, the benefits were evident in their performances, we wish them good luck in their forthcoming University Championships in February 2018.
